First, About You...

Today people are carrying an unprecedented amount of stress. Balancing work demands, family needs, and a strong internal drive to achieve and succeed can take a toll, but then add on a pandemic and any unexpected life changes (illness, loss, divorce, parent care, etc.) and you have the perfect prescription for anxiety. You typically manage well with high levels of stress- you are ambitious in your career, education and/or life goals. You try to take care of yourself and others see you as someone who has it together.

Yet privately you find yourself struggling. Perhaps you feel more irritable and edgy. Maybe you doubt yourself more than usual. The things you normally do to manage stress aren't cutting it.  You aren't  very nice to yourself at times, especially when you make a mistake. You may feel a constant sense of pressure that you can't escape. You may have trouble relaxing and turning off your mind. You always do your best, yet it feels like it is never good enough.

About Me...

I'm Amie Koehn, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years' experience helping individuals, couples and families. I work with adults and couples with a variety of issues, but my specialties include anxiety, trauma and navigating difficult relationships.

As a professional with experience in the corporate and clinical worlds, I am very familiar with the challenges we face today. My own experience with anxiety allows me to relate to the confusing and overwhelming nature of anxiety. I learned how to take control of my anxiety and I help others do the same every day.

I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, in medical clinics and taught for the University of Oklahoma's School of Social Work graduate program for nine years. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
